Ukraine has a legal team that seeks reimbursement for assets stolen by Russia, when Putin invaded Crimea. Through european courts they are seize anything Russian of value.

Recently, the expensive Russian weather monitoring vessel Professor Molchanov came into Norwegian waters, so Norway seized the ship at Svalbard, and sent its 69 sailors home to Russia.

The ship will now be handed over to Ukraine.

A lot of buildings of that era - and not just in Japan - are really problematic. New materials and construction methods that in many cases turned out to have limited life spans and are very difficult to restore. Leaks, cracks, bits falling apart. Here it's worse, with stronger earthquake standards for public buildings.

And it's the spectacular buildings that tend to be worst off. A boring school probably never used anything flashy or innovative, and so it's fine.

I have gone back to using my older digital cameras, none of which have GPS on them to avoid collecting location data.

Maybe I should just go fully analogue and get some film for my old 35 mm camera.

Not that it helps all that much as images can often be geo-located easily by visual means.
